The importance of being "early"

Today I had a costume fitting for the BBC, upon arrival at Elstree....I was told i was in the wrong place. It was only 10 mins away on foot . Fortunatly I had arrived 30 mins early, just in case.
Always give yourself plenty of time when going to set or location, literally anything could happen .
The fitting went well and I will be appearing in the dream, as usual in this industry, I can't give any details till after.
Whilst I was there I got a reply to a "selftape" audition I had done last night, it was a yes. Another acting job.
This leads us to the subject #selftape
Learn how to do them, I'll post a link to the recordings I've done a little later.

Paying the bills

One if the things I do to get paid while still "acting" is #extras work. It's not really acting but it's good "on set" experience and a chance to make new friends and contacts, all part of rule 1 #Networking.
I've just got a fitting for tomorrow, with several days filming through the month.
It all pays and that keeps your bills paid.

First success.

So, now I've landed a small role in a fringe theatre prodution.
How?
well, it's a long story so I'll start in the middle....
My Girlfriend went to a drama school, she is a trained actor. Someone she knows is involved with the fringe and heard that a group was looking for an actor to perform a small role....I contacted them and got an audition.

Lesson one to take from the Blog-
#Networking

One of the best ways to find work is via people you know.

Although thats not the only way, but we will cover the other options in due corse.

For now, here is a link to the show details;
